The 5th ‘Kalamata Dance Cup – Acrobatics Edition’ festival of competitions and acrobatic performances will take place on the weekend of June 22 – 23, 2024, at the Kalamata Beach Stadium (indoor gymnasium), with athletes from Greece, Bulgaria, Moldova, and Belgium. The festival, with philanthropic aims, is part of the KDC event framework in the Municipality of Kalamata, aimed at developing ‘dance tourism’ year-round. It promises once again to offer a beautiful experience with a wonderful weekend getaway in Kalamata for athletes, artists, teachers, and parents. The goal of the Kalamata Dance Challenge (KDC) is to support organizations and students of acrobatic arts, promoting their work and achievements, encouraging the work of educators, and recognizing parents’ dedication. The reason for the separation is to enhance the creativity of the athletes. Bearing in mind the restrictions caused by the competition regulations (dress, height of instruments, time limits, emphasis on the difficulty of execution, etc.) we give you the option to participate in the artistic categories in which we keep the minimum possible restrictions so that you can freely show off your artistic and creative abilities.

All instruments and components to be used in the competition are tested and certified. Remarks: ***Any type of movement beyond the vertical support axis of the instrument is prohibited (swings)***The adjustment of the desired height of the instrument from the ground will be done by adding and removing layers. REGULATIONS – METHOD OF CONDUCT
All participants must have active health insurance during the days of the competition and the entire event.
The Festival has a charitable purpose. Part of the proceeds of the overall event will be allocated for a charitable purpose.
Participants can declare on the registration form either for the Competition in various aerial events or for the non-competitive Aerial Show Performance (artistic show). They can declare to both by registering differently on the same platform.
All participants, by completing their participation platform, certify that they have received knowledge and comply with the terms and regulations of the event.
Participation in the Festival is considered valid only with the declaration of participation in the official platform https://www.kalamatadancecup.com/dancecup/regform/userregistration.php and the payment of the participation amount until 14/6/2024.
Once the registration forms are closed, no participation will be considered valid.
Participants are responsible for their own health and belongings. The organization is not responsible for any injury to a dancer, loss or damage to objects. Responsibility rests with the competing individual.
Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a guardian who will be solely responsible for what happens.
Refunds are not accepted. The only exceptions are the cancellation of participation for medical reasons which must be proven by a medical opinion, or the change of the date of the event or the cancellation of the event.
By entering, each participant waives their copyright of photos, videos, etc. which may be used by the organizers for purposes of promoting the event.
It is forbidden to use any material/object that can become dangerous for participants and spectators (such as fire, needles, knives, etc.). The use of such items leads to automatic disqualification of the contestant.
All participants are prohibited from consuming alcohol or any prohibited substance before or during the competition. Failure to comply will result in automatic disqualification.
On the day before the match, on Friday, but also during the breaks, or earlier before the start of the match, free rehearsals may take place.
The responsible Organizers of the Competition do not interfere in the decisions of the Jury and bear no responsibility for the final results.
Participating athletes – dancers – coaches are not allowed to enter the table of the Organizing Committee and the Judges.
DRESS RESTRICTIONS: ALL PARTICIPANT APPEARANCES MUST FOLLOW THE DRESS RULES.
DRESS RULES: 1.Decent clothing is required, without being provocative. Special attention to the overexposure of specific areas of the body (chest – buttocks). The bodysuit should sufficiently cover the area of the buttocks. Clothing that does not fall within the rules of conduct of the competition will be rejected if it is age inappropriate. 2. The clothes of the participants must not contain items that could injure the contestant or damage the instrument, for example earrings that could get caught in the cloth, rhinestones in the hair or trinkets, etc.
Contestants must check in and be present at the venue at least one hour prior to the scheduled start of their category to avoid delays.
The final program will be announced 10 days after the closing of entries. The organization reserves the right to change the program, if there is a reason.
Coaches and athletes must conduct themselves in a fair and fair spirit of fair play at all times during the competition and at the awards ceremonies.
All contestants are prohibited from using any gesture, expression, clothing or song with sexual content, on or off stage.
The overall presentation is prohibited from containing any type of racist symbols, language or behavior. If this happens, the contestant will be automatically disqualified.
Contestants are expected to be honest in representing their levels and abilities in the contest. The organization reserves the right to change the category in cases where the level of execution and the choice of exercises differs from the category declared.
The songs and choreographies must last STRICTLY up to the allotted time set by the organization for each category. After the time is up, the music will be turned off by the event and the contestant must finish their presentation.

However, the athletes are obliged to have their music with them during the race on a USB stick. No music will be accepted on the day of the race.
METHODS OF EXECUTION
Athletes will compete according to their age category according to the competition schedule. During the match, together with the athlete (for safety reasons), only the coach is allowed to be present on the playing field. No objects are allowed on the playing field.

The Competition will be held at the Municipal Beach Indoor Gym (National Stadium), the only one in Kalamata that provides maximum safety for our aerial athletes (after inspection & fitness certification by a specialized engineer)
